Chelsea Play Out A Drab Goalless Draw With Brighton

Thomas Tuchel’s side were obviously distracted by news surrounding the European Super League, as they lacked the enthusiasm to beat a relegation struggling Brighton, eventually sharing a point in a boring goalless draw.

The Blues created little, but a point was enough to see them take up fourth-place ahead of nearest challengers West Ham, who they face on Saturday.

In fact Brighton almost stole all three points late on, but Danny Welbeck’s shot from distance struck the post.

Defender Ben White was then sent off for a cynical foul on Hudson-Odoi in stoppage time, after having received a yellow card earlier.

The draw moves Graham Potter’s side seven points above the Premier League relegation zone with six games to play.
